Obituary

(Santo) Nicholas "Nick" Trofe, 85, of Denton, died Monday February 20, 2006 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton.

Mr. Trofe was born March 20, 1920 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Vito and Rosalie (Fioriglio) Trofe, and was one of 18 children. He was married to Violet Yannelli on May 29, 1948 in Westville, NJ., and they enjoyed a wonderful life together for 58 years.

He was a sergeant in the United States Army during WWII, serving as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne. He was a welder as a young man and he enjoyed a career spanning over 50 years with Electrolux. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and the VFW.

Nick was a great lover of animals, and he loved spending time with his brothers and sisters and their families. He and Vi shared a love of casino gambling and enjoyed going to Atlantic City before their move to Texas 4 years ago. Once here, he loved being with his granddaughters and loved being a part of their lives.

A memorial service will be at 5:00 PM Wednesday February 22, 2006 in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home. Rabbi Geoffrey Dennis will officiate the service.

Mr. Trofe is survived by his daughter, Gayle Prybutok and son-in-law Victor Prybutok of Denton; and two granddaughters, Alexis and Sara Prybutok. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet, who died on January 14, 2006.
