Sandra Ann (Hardee) Martin, age 78, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026. A deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Sandra spent her life creating a home filled with love, warmth, and support.
Born on August 22, 1948, Sandra spent the majority of her life in Irving, Texas, where she built deep roots and raised her family. Fifteen years ago, she and her husband moved to Ponder, Texas, where they continued to create cherished memories.
While she held a teaching degree, Sandra’s first and most important priority was her home and family. She dedicated her early years to raising her children, becoming the ultimate pillar of support for all of their activities. As her children grew older and entered school, she transitioned into the classroom, frequently stepping in to substitute for her close teacher friends.
Sandra’s absolute pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She made it her life's mission to ensure she was present for them—not just physically, but with an intentional, fierce emotional presence. She listened deeply, loved unconditionally, and celebrated every milestone with immense pride. Her legacy of unwavering love will live on forever through them.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Mike Martin; her three devoted children and their spouses, Dr. Tamyra Maxey and her husband Dr. Robert Maxey, Allison Hendrick and her husband Kyle Hendrick, and Adam Martin and his wife Holly Martin. She also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren who brought endless light to her life: Dr. Hannah Maxey, Haylee Maxey, Paige Hendrick, Nathan Hendrick, Montgomery Martin, and McCoy Martin.
A service will be held at 10 am on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home located at 705 N Locust St, Denton, TX 76201.
