IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Samantha
Floyd
July 7, 1947 – September 15, 2021
Samantha "Sam" Floyd, 74, of Argyle, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, 15 September, 2021 surrounded by her family. Sam was born on 7 July, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Ruth Bennett. She was raised in the catholic church and attended catholic school through high school graduation. On 8 July, 1991, Sam joined the love of her life, William Randall "Randy" Floyd in holy matrimony in Orlando Florida. They were married 30 years. Sam embraced her family of husband and pets with love, grace, silent strength, and total devotion.
At the age of 19, Sam moved to New York City where she was briefly employed in the culinary industry working in various positions at the Top of the Sixes Restaurant prior to moving to Europe in 1968. Over the next 24 years, Sam lived variously in Turkey, Belgium, and Germany, where she met her future husband. Sam was employed by the U.S. Department of Defense Dependent School system (DODDS), then worked in international shipping. Also while in Europe, she fanned her entrepreneurial spirit owning, launching, and operating a wildly popular computer sales and education store in Germany. In 1995, she further engaged her business acumen opening two highly successful antique stores in Illinois and Florida.
Samantha is survived by her beloved husband and two beloved dogs, Krissy and Kayla, of Argyle.
Randy takes this opportunity to extend his special thanks to Doctors Morrill, Cruz, Hussain, Adekola, Lee, and Kancharla and their staffs; the medical and administrative staffs of Medical City of Denton and Medical City of Plano for their professional and loving care of Samantha; and to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Bradshaw for their abundant love, support, and spiritual guidance for the Floyd family. Randy also extends his deepest, heartfelt appreciation to his sister and brother-in-Law, Lee and Sam Ragle, for their tremendous love, support, strength, and guidance in all things.
In lieu of flowers, the Floyd's ask that you please consider donating to the Best Friends Animal Society of Utah in honor of Samantha's lifelong love and commitment to the well-being of all pets.
