Obituary

Sam Webb Golston, 85, of Denton, Texas, departed this life Saturday, May 31, 2014. Born August 7, 1928 in Mobile, Alabama, he was raised in Santa Anna, Texas and lived in Texas most of his life. He married Diana Miter on June 16, 1962 in El Paso, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Golston of Denton, Texas, daughter, Roxane Thomas and her husband, Mike, of Highland Village, Texas, son, Gregory Golston of Austin, Texas, son, Paul Golston and his wife, Linda, of Taylor, Texas, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Webb was loved and respected by his family and an abundance of people in all walks of life. He was an astute businessman with many successful businesses and enjoyed the challenge. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was able to fulfill his dreams of traveling the world for both. He was a good friend to many, a loving and devoted husband, father and family man. Yet, he was first and foremost a man of great faith who served his redeemer, Jesus Christ. He will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. David of Wales Episcopal Church, 623 Ector, Denton, TX 76201 or the Texas Chapter of the Wildlife Society Colin Caruthers Memorial Scholarship, care of Dr. Fred Bryant; 401 Billy Evans, Kingsville, TX 78363.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2014 at St. David of Wales Episcopal Church, 623 Ector, Denton, Texas.
