Ruth Lynn Osborne peacefully passed away on April 5th, 2026, Resurrection Sunday, and now rests in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born on March 18th, 1954, in Elkton, Maryland, Ruth "Ruthie" Osborne was the youngest of four children born to Curtis and Ruth Morrison. From an early age, she developed a deep passion for horses. As a teenager attending Newark High School in Delaware, Ruthie and her horse, Lady, competed in equestrian show jumping events, showcasing her dedication and love for the sport.
Ruthie pursued higher education at Delaware Technical and Community College, where she earned a degree in chemistry. It was during this time she met her future husband, Mark Osborne, whom she married on November 22nd, 1977. Together, they embraced their faith and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
In 1981, Ruthie and Mark relocated to the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex in Texas to pursue new career opportunities and raise their family. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Jason and Christy, whom she lovingly homeschooled for six years. Committed to lifelong learning, Ruthie furthered her education by obtaining degrees in nursing, library science, and teaching.
A woman of strong faith and prayer, Ruthie consistently prayed for her family and the nation. She led a healthy and active lifestyle as an avid runner and weightlifter. She cherished nurturing close family connections, maintaining a warm and welcoming home, and organizing many memorable family events.
Ruthie’s love for Jesus Christ was central to her life, and she eagerly anticipated His return, encouraging her family and others to be prepared for that joyful meeting.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Mark Osborne; her children, Jason Osborne and Christy Carlson, along with their spouses; and her four grandchildren.
In honor of Ruthie’s spirit and values, memorial contributions may be made to the Prestonwood Pregnancy Center, which provides pregnancy testing and sonograms free of charge to mothers.
The service to celebrate Ruthie’s life will be held on Friday, April 10th, at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Belew Cemetery in Pilot Point, Texas.
Ruth Lynn Osborne’s life was a testament to faith, family, and dedication, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
