Ruth Jane Cain, 96, of Sanger, died Friday October 17, 2008 at her home in Sanger.

Mrs. Cain was born on September 24, 1912 in Aubrey to A.J. and Sally Kate Green. She was married to Ralph E. Cain on August 29, 1931 in Aubrey, TX, (he died on September 11, 1967). She retired from the University of North Texas in 1974 and most recently from the Green Thumb Service in 1989. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sanger and a member of the Amazing Grace Choir.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday October 20, 2008 in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Rev. E.L. "Skip" McNeal will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include her son, Ralph Cain, Jr. and his wife, Yvonne of Sanger; daughters, Wanda Wells and her husband, Harold of Valley View, Linda Lee and her husband, Greg of Lubbock; sister, Aletha Mae Looper and her husband, Otis Ray "Bud" of Aubrey; two sisters-in-law; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Allen and Raymond Green.
