Obituary

Ruth Fern Branam, 97, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025. She was born on July 17, 1928 in Argyle, Texas to Robert Roy Cunningham and Myrtle Lee Gregory. She graduated from Denton High School in 1946 and married the love of her life, Joseph Edward Branam that same year on October 18th.
After having two daughters, she went to work at First State Bank, now Wells Fargo, at the age of 30. She worked in bookkeeping and then became vault teller and was there for 55 years.
She didn't let her hearing disability stop her from leading a full life and she was always ready to go anywhere. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and always put her family first. She made great honey cookies, peanut brittle and peach cobbler.
Ruth is survived by daughters Jo Ann Felts and Judy Crossland (John); grandchildren, Chris Brown (Sarah), Zachary Crossland (Dixie) and Brooke Rose (Justin); great-grandchildren, Walker Brown, Bo Crossland and Barrett, Reagan and Landry Rose. She was preceded in death by her husband and son-in-law WC Felts.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 22, 2025 in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until the service starts. Interment will follow at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Argyle.
