Ruth Ann Atterberry went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 23, 2023 in Denton, TX. She was born on August 7th, 1938, to Orval and Violet Hamman in Kansas City, Kansas.

She spent most of her childhood in Missouri and graduated from college in Hannibal, MO with a degree in education. She taught elementary school for 17 years and had such a heart for her students.

Although she loved teaching, her greatest joy came from serving the Lord and her family. She enjoyed being active in church through the years by teaching children, participating in Bible studies, and going on senior trips.

She treasured being a mother, but even more so, being a Nana. Her family was her world. She also enjoyed visiting and spending time with friends. She had a way of making everyone feel special and loved.

Ruth Ann is survived by a brother, Jim Hamman, of Hannibal, MO and a sister, Mary Beth Hendricks of North Carolina; a son, Danny Atterberry and wife, Tiffani, of Krum, TX; a daughter, Shanna Cheney and husband, David, of Texarkana, TX; five grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher, Jacob, Jillian, and Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, and Beau.

Graveside services will be held at 9:00 am, Friday, September 1st, 2023, at Jackson Cemetery in Krum, TX with Pastor Jay Smith officiating.
