Russell Miller Goodman, lll, of Justin, TX passed peacefully surrounded by loving family on April 30, 2020 at his home in Justin after a long battle with cancer.

Rusty was born on October 7, 1949 to Russell Miller Goodman Jr and Dona Belle (Bowers) Goodman. He grew up in Grand Prairie, TX and graduated from Grand Prairie High School  in 1968. He was married to Vickie Lynne Black on April 10, 1976. Rusty and Vickie were blessed with two beautiful children, Jenny and Matt.

He spent most of his working years in telecommunications, but loved the interactions and friends that he met while working at Walmart after he retired. He never met a stranger and loved sitting outside talking to friends and family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf and spending time with his grandsons. He was kind, willing to help anyone who needed it and enjoyed seeing the reactions from his sarcastic humor. He always wanted to make everyone smile, regardless of their circumstances.

Russell is survived by his wife Vickie Goodman of Justin, daughter Jennifer Michele Gonzales and her husband Abraham of Roanoke, sister Beverly Kay Crawford and her husband James of Southlake, four grandsons, DaVon, Cash, Cole and Casin, numerous in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Royce Paul Goodman, and his son, Brian Matthew "Matt" Goodman.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, May 4, 2020 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Justin Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at his home on Saturday, May 9.
