Rufus Wells, 89, of Denton, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
Mr. Wells was born on February 1, 1926 in Lewisville to Garrett P. and Mary Arnetta (Patterson) Wells. He married Wilma J. Dooley on December 1, 1951 in Denton; she died on April 27, 2009. He retired from Moore Business Forms and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy during WWII.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Wells Korzi of Carrollton; Cindy Wells of Denton, sister Mary Catherine Lindsey of Bowie; granddaughter, Sarah Heddin and her husband Nolan; great grandchildren, Tiawne, Elizabeth, Ashlyn, and Kaileigh.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday April 3, 2015 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 4, 2015 in the chapel of Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Rev. Jeff Dooley will officiate the service. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
