Ruby Jane Crawford was born on August 29, 1925 in Advance, Kentucky, to Elmer and Virgie Caudill. She left this earth to be with our Lord on May 9, 2016 in Denton, Texas. She is preceded by both of her parents, her sister, Edna Mae, her daughter, Donna, son Jim, and her husband Robert. She is survived by her son Charles and daughter, Terry. In addition, she leaves behind nine grandchildren; Angela, Heidi, Lonnie, Lori, Glen, Gerald, Joey, Shannon, and Julie. As well as leaving seven great-grandchildren; Taylor, Tanner, Dakota, Natasha, Nanaessa, Anthony, and Alex. Grandma Ruby was a Godly woman who gave with a servant's heart. She not only worked with Franklin County Children's Services in Columbus, Ohio, fostering hundreds of orphaned children, but in her later years, she provided nursing services to elderly or disabled Veterans. She was a homemaker; however, she did support herself through her love of sewing and selling Avon products. Her favorite hobby was crocheting and her entire family benefited by her artful treasures, from quilts to baby clothes to holiday décor. Grandma loved to have all of her children and grand-kids over for holiday celebrations and we all have lovely memories of her preparing the family meal and her sweet smile. She was a tender example of strength of character, discipline, and commitment to family. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
