Obituary

Ruben Lee "Bee" "Cowboy" Burrow, 90, passed away on October 31, 2017 in Denton, TX. Ruben was born on September 4, 1927 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas the son of Ruben and Maudie Crawford Burrow.
Ruben moved with his family to the Sherman-Denison-Mckinney area when he was young and attended schools in the Sherman area. He was a veteran of the Korean war while serving in the U.S. Army. He had 2 daughters from a previous marriage-Brenda Burrow and Karen Burrow McLaughlin. Ruben married Mary Harper in 1957 and they had one daughter Kathy Burrow.
He worked for Monroe Pearson driving a grocery truck for 10 years. He then worked as a custodian for T.W.U. for 27 years. In his spare time he loved to garden, fish, and play country and bluegrass music. He had a band, Bee Burrow and the Denton Rhythm Boys and they played in various places around Denton County including The North Texas State Fair. He also loved to dance to country music. He used to play music at the Senior Center in Denton and go dancing at the VFW in Denton and Lake Dallas.
He was a hardworking, honest man who loved his family and friends very much and he was always the life of the party wherever he was. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is now in Heaven with his beloved wife Mary, which is where he wanted to spend eternity.
Ruben was preceded by his mother and father Rube & Maudie Burrow; brother Cecil and his wife Menervie Burrow; brother Euis and his wife Lorene Burrow; sister Corene and husband Clarence; sister Katy and husband Ray Moore; brother Royal Burrow and his daughter Brenda Burrow.
Ruben is survived by his daughter Kathy Burrow and her husband James; daughter Karen Burrow McLaughlin and husband Mike; sister-in-law Violet Burrow and various nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, along with 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Ruben is also survived by his dear neighbor and friend Emilio Gonzales II (whom he loved like a son) & his family Esperanza, Emilio III, & Crystal.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday November 4, 2017 at Cooper Creek Cemetery, Denton, TX. at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Buddy Owens officiating.
