Obituary

Roy Glenn Trapp of Denton, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 23 2015 at the age of 85.
The son of Roy Lawrence Trapp and Pearl Elizabeth Sellers Trapp, Roy was born on July 13, 1930, in Alba, TX. He attended Orange High School and graduated from Cisco High School. Roy served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of North Texas (formerly North Texas State University) where he was a member and faculty alumni advisor of Kappa Alpha Order. He pursued further graduate work at Texas A&M University.
On June 30, 1956, he married Mary McCrea in Cisco, Texas. They moved to Midland where he began his career at Shell Oil Company moving to Mobil Oil Company before focusing on teaching where Roy was Assistant Professor of Education for over thirty years at University of North Texas.
He is survived by his son, Mark Trapp, of San Antonio, his daughter, Georgia Trapp Nolan and son-in-law Patrick of Austin, and three grandchildren, Howard Joseph, Mary Caroline and Lilly Grace Nolan.
His family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Brookdale Denton South and North locations (Sterling House) and Brookdale Hospice as well as his wonderful neighbors of over thirty five years, Lloyd and Barbara Burns. In remembrance of Roy, the family wishes that gifts be made to Meals on Wheels of Denton. A private family service will be held.
