Roy Eugene Strange Sr. (Gene), 74, of Pilot Point, TX met our Lord and Savior on June 18, 2015, at home where he was surrounded by his family and loved ones. A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015 Freedom Life Church in Sanger.
Gene was born on January 21, 1941 in Bolivar, TX to James and Beulah Strange. Gene married Rosie Mae Rushing on October 15, 1968, in Denton, TX. Gene supported his family by driving across the country for 50 years. He was a walking atlas, adored all over this country and loved by many. He never met a stranger no matter where he was. Gene loved to cook on the grill or the smoker, watch a good football game, or visit with family and friends. His wealth of knowledge was passed throughout the years to the next generation.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Mae Strange on April 14, 2005; his brother, Johnny Strange of Denton; Dorothy Strange of Denton; and Francis Kincaid of Sanger.
Gene is survived by his three daughters, MaeLynn Horn of Denton, Sandra Foshee of Ingleside, TX, and Wendy Roye of Ft. Worth; two sons, Roy Strange Jr. (Bill) of Vernon, WI, and James Strange (JD) of Wichita Falls, TX; sister, Janice Ledford of Tioga; and was loved and adored by Claudia Strange Mendoza; twenty grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of which adored PawPaw.
