Roy Donovan Hinton Sr., known to many of his family as Boppa or Bop, passed away on November 2, 2026, in Denton, Texas. He was born on December 21, 1939, in Louisiana, and lived a long life.

To his family, he was a cherished father, grandfather, whose memory will remain deeply treasured. He is survived by his daughter Pamela Counts, his son Jonathan Hinton, and his daughter Jennifer Sorensen. He is also survived by Marilyn Hinton and his grandchildren Patrick Brogan Sorensen, Brannock Wesley Sorensen, Beckett Donovan Sorensen, Lillian Paige Sorensen, Grace Marie Hinton, and Emily Rae Hinton.

He was preceded in death by his mother Cora Sue Hinton, father Hugh Royal Hinton, bother, Terrell Hinton, son, Roy Donovan Hinton Jr., and grandchild, Bryan Patrick Hinton. Their memories remained an enduring part of his life and will continue to be held close by all who loved them.
