Devoted husband, father, and friend, Roy Leon Bothwell, 93, passed away peacefully with his loved ones near on the morning of February 9, 2007. While we will miss having him with us, we are comforted knowing that he lives now in the presence of our Lord and Savior with his precious wife, Peggy.
Roy was born in the Navo community, August 2nd, 1913 to Arther and Ethel Bothwell. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggy, of 68 years. Roy and Peggy served faithfully as charter members of Lakeland Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas. Roy was genuinely interested in everyone he met and made friends easily. His approach to life was one of love and loyalty to his family.
Life was never the same for Roy after Peggy's death on July 22, 2004 despite the loving attention of his five caring daughters. He is survived by his daughter Wanda Mulkey and husband Charles of Denton; daughter JoNell Farley of Lewisville; daughter June Holley and husband Garland of Krum; daughter Jane Keese and Kenneth of Krum; and daughter Tommye Vosburg and husband Ronnie of Argyle. His is also survived by his grandchildren Randy, Ronny, and Greg Moeller, Karen Farrer, Teri Camp, Kyle and Kevin Farley, Pam Patterson, Philip Holley, Shaun Keese, Kara Owens, Jeff and Jason Vosburg; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Roy was predeceased by his wife, Peggy, his son-in-law Johnny Moeller, and his grandson Mark Keese.
Those wishing to give thanks to God for the life of Roy L. Bothwell are invited to join the family for visitation at Mulkey Mason Jack Schmitz & Son Funeral Home (705 N. Locust St., Denton, TX) on Sunday, February 11th, 2007. Visitation hours will be held from 4pm – 6pm. Funeral services for Roy will be at Lakeland Baptist Church (397 South Stemmons) in Lewisville, Texas on Monday, February 12th, 2007 at 2pm. With Dr. Ben Smith and Rev. Donny Forson, officiating.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Randy, Ronny, and Greg Moeller, Kyle and Kevin Farley, Philip Holley, Shaun Keese, and Jeff and Jason Vosburg.
