Ross "Skeet" Shepherd, 60, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010 at Wise Regional Health System, in Decatur. He was born August 30, 1949 in Denton to Ross E. Jr. and Jane (Tipton) Shepherd. He was married to Vicki Raney on April 22, 1977 in Denton. He worked in the Construction Business. He was a graduate of Denton High School.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 2, 2010 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton with Rev. Sam Redfearn, officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Robert Lee, Chris Thomas, Bill Hall, Bill LaPorte, Zach Stone, and Chad Setters. The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday, July 1, 2010 for visitation from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.

Mr. Shepherd is survived by his wife, Vicki Shepherd, of Decatur, Son Ross Thomas of Denton, sisters, Gayla Stone, Little Elm, Dawn LaPorte of Denton, and Candy Kersten of Shady Shores, Step Father Allen Pierce, of Denton, an Aunt, Mary Shepheerd Albert of Austin, and three Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Step Son, Randy Skelton, and other family members.
