Mrs. Rose Ann Leo of Denton,

age 80 passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2009, at 6:30 pm.  She was born to Mr.  & Mrs. Doit Freeland in Olney, Illinois

on May 16, 1928. She married Nelson F. Leo on Thanksgiving Day, 1950 in Champagne, Illinois.  She moved to Denton

in 1958 when her husband, Nelson, accepted a position as an Associate Professor

at North Texas State

University.  Rose Ann worked at Tobin Pharmacy for many

years. Most of her life was devoted to being a homemaker taking care of her

husband and daughter, Stephanie, and volunteering with many community organizations.  Rose Ann was an Honorary Life Member of the

Women's Shakespeare Club.  An active

member in Presbyterian Women, and Presbyterian After School Program at St. Andrews, where she volunteered for a number of years.

She volunteered with Denton Hospice Services.

In 2005 Rose Ann received the Honorary Life Membership Award for her service

at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.  She

and Nelson enjoyed time at the Elks Lodge where he was a charter member.  Rose Ann a devoted Christian was a loving

mother, grandma, and great grandma who was very proud of all their

accomplishments. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert

Freeland, and husband, Nelson.  She is

survived by daughter Stephanie Leo Naillon and husband Bobby of DeKalb, Texas;

grandchildren Kristina Waller and husband David of Frisco, Texas, Erica

Hammonds and husband Anthony Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Chelsea Lopez and

husband Paul of Twentynine Palms, California; Great Grandchildren Zachary and

Jacob Hinton of Frisco, Texas and Johnathon and Kaya Hammonds of Fort Bragg,

North Carolina.  Pallbearers: Kristina Waller,

Erica Hammonds, Chelsea Lopez, Bobby Naillon, Mark Wingert of Olney,

Illinois and Chuck Freeland of Houston, Texas.  Honorary Pallbearer: Zachary Hinton. Visitation

will be at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 7-8 pm.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Denton on

Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 2 pm, with graveside immediately following at

Roselawn Cemetery in Denton.  Memorials

in her honor may be sent to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Denton.
