Obituary

Rose Benton passed peacefully on January 1, 2021 at her home after a year-long battle with a rare brain disease.

Rose was born February 1, 1953 in Dallas to Manuel and Erdena Rico. She was the oldest daughter in a family with 10 children. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from Bryan Adams High School. She was among a few selected students for an early computer science program that later defined her business strengths and career.  She was the founder and CEO of Corporate Computer Solutions, a computer hardware sales and service company with several US offices and many corporate clients.  She retired from the computer industry in 1999.

Rose was married to Bill Benton in 2014 and moved to Denton from Plano Texas.  She had two sons from an earlier marriage and three grandchildren.

Once in Denton she made many friends while becoming a member of Denton Bible Church, the Ariel Club and Historic Denton.  She had passions for her Christian faith, gardening, embroidery, entertaining, and politics.  A friend wrote, "Rose will always be remembered as a kind and thoughtful person who made others feel welcomed and cared for".

She is survived by her husband, her mother, her two sons Jeffrey Krause & Paul Krause, three grandchildren, six siblings, and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks go to R2R Hospice Healthcare and UT Southwestern Medical Center Neurology Clinic for their compassionate care.

Memorials may be made to the Denton Bible Church or the National Prion Disease Surveillance Center.

A memorial service will be held at Denton Bible Church Chapel on Friday January 15, 2021 at 10:30 am.
