Roger Edward Barnes, age 46, of Lake Dallas, passed away following a long illness, Monday evening, May 21, 2007 at the Medical Center of Lewisville. Roger was born January 30, 1961 in China Lake, CA to Dorthey Shelton and Paul Ray Barnes. Roger graduated from Lake Dallas High School on the A/B Honor Roll and spent two years in the United States Army serving in Germany. Roger is survived by his wife, Rhonda Barnes of Lake Dallas; daughter, Roxanne Barnes of Denton; sons, Scott Jones of Lake Dallas and DeWayne Coomer of Denton; sister, Carla Jean of Red Oak; brother, Richard Shelton of Rhome; mother, Dorothy Shelton and step-father, Lyle of lake Dallas; father, Paul Ray Barnes; grandchildren, Destini, Doaminique and Jayden and many other relatives and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Barnes February 18, 1985. The family will have a visitation from 7-9pm on Friday, May 25, 2007 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, Lewisville. A funeral service will be held at 11am, Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the Lake Cities United Methodist Church, 300 Hundley Drive, Lake Dallas, TX 75065. Interment will follow in the Swisher Cemetery.
