Rodney Earl Burdick returned to our Heavenly Father on April 13th, 2016. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, April 16th, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2801 Eldorado Parkway, McKinney, TX 75070. Rodney was born August 29th, 1939, in Richmond, Rhode Island, to Donald and Helen Burdick. He was a man of many talents. He was a mainframe programmer and systems analyst for 30 years with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. He was a genealogist, an award-winning quilter, an author, an accountant, a newspaper carrier, a race car driver, a mechanic, a dairy farmer, a bowler, a college professor, a slumlord, a world traveler, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a High Priest of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a husband, a father, a grandfather. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Dorothy of Sanger, TX; his sisters Clessene Heil of Chandler, AZ, and Barbara Kirtland of Lubbock, TX; his children, Earl Burdick of McKinney, TX, Pamela Welch of Frisco, TX, Lot Burdick of McKinney, TX, Rebecca Senkel of Syracuse, UT, Adam Burdick of Grand Prairie, TX, and Sondra Sanders of Vernal, UT; his step-children Dustin Baker of Centurion, South Africa and Amanda Swinburne of Waterfalls, South Africa; his grandchildren Kevin, Amanda, Eddie, Eric, Anastasia, Veronica, Alyssa, Kiara, Haley, Simon, Piper, Asher, Emily, Eden, Mallory, Sheldon Layne, Regan, Allison, Julieann, Wesley, Jessica, and Jordan; and countless in-laws, friends, associates, and extended family.
