Obituary

Robert "Bob" Thomas Ward was born February 18, 1932, in Caldwell, Texas to Lula and Robert Ward, who has preceded him in death, along with one brother, Billy Ray. The family moved to West Texas in 1939 to work in the Oil Patch. Bob attended school in Denver City where he played football. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Owen from 1951 to 1955. He married Joyce Powell, the love of his life, in August 1972 in Odessa, Texas, where Bob served as Deacon in the First Presbyterian Church. They moved to Alaska in 1984 where Bob worked for British Petroleum, on the North Slope, later moving back to Argyle where he retied in 1999.
Bob was a faithful member and trustee of First Baptist Church in Argyle. He was active in community service, served Meals on Wheels for over ten years, and always helped in Civic matters.
Bob is survived by three daughters, Kim Beard of Essex, Connecticut, Revis and Steve Allcorn of Highland Village, Jennifer and Kevin Lewis of Flower Mound; and one son, Robert Thomas, II and Jennifer Ward of Katy, TX; nine grandchildren and a host of wonderful friends.
Bob was extremely fond of his family and they of him, and he will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday March 27, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Argyle. Interment will follow at Graham-Argyle Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday March 26 at the funeral home.
