Robert A. Nichols, 90, of Denton died Monday, September 15, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. He was born September 20, 1917 in Clarendon, TX to S. T. and Maude (Lillard) Nichols. He was married to Juliette McCall on February 22, 1941 in Mineral Wells, TX she died on July 7, 2007. He attended Clarendon College, University of Texas, and Southern Methodist University Law School. He was an Attorney and Land Developer. He was a member of the Southmont Baptist Church, President's Council, University of North Texas, and past President of the Rotary Club. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Southmont Baptist Church, with Dr. Larry Reynolds, officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton on Monday, September 22, 2008 for visitation from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Memorial's may be made to the Southmont Baptist Church, 2801 Pennsylvania, Denton, TX 76205.
Mr. Nichols is survived by two daughters, Susan and husband Tom Hastings, of Valley View, TX and Kathy James, of Cooper Landing, Alaska, and a son David and wife Judy Nichols, of Denton, Tx Four Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Cindy Nichols and Grandson Matt Harper..
