Robert H. Nelson, 68, of Cross Roads, TX passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Baylor University Hospital in Dallas. He was born January 17, 1946 in Waco, Texas to Herbert T. and Marguerite LaVelle (Perry) Nelson. He was married to Nellie Anne Barnett on July 2, 1966 in Waco, TX. He was a member of Denton Bible Church, and was self-employed as the owner of NESCO (Nelson Sales Company).
Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Nellie Nelson of Cross Roads, son Robert Thomas Nelson and wife Kelly of Oak Point, daughter, Joanna Lee Webb and husband Matt of Tahoe City, CA, brothers, H. Thomas Nelson and wife Teresa of Denton, William T. Nelson of Temple, and James L. Nelson and wife Rhonda of Grapevine, grandchildren Libby Webb, Megan Nelson and Macy Nelson.
He was a devoted and faithful husband, father, friend, and an incredible joy to his granddaughters. He was a blessing to countless men in his prison ministry at Denton County Jail. He loved to hunt and beat his friends in sporting clay competitions!
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM in the chapel of Denton Bible Church. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014, at 2:00 PM in the Denton Bible Church Chapel with Rev. Tom Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park.
