Our beloved Great Grandfather, Grandfather, and father Robert "Bob" Lee Manthei Sr passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of May 16th, 2023. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Claire Manthei on March 5, 1929. He is preceded in death by his beautiful bride of 67 years Mary Catherine Manthei, two wonderful sons Michael J. Manthei and Richard J. Manthei and his incredible grandson Robert L. Manthei III.

Bob is survived by his son Robert L Manthei Jr. and wife Margaret, daughter Kathleen M. Pizzo and husband Tony, daughter Patricia A. Whitchurch and husband Larry, daughter Karen E. Jones and husband Charles, and son James K. Manthei and wife Allison. Granddaughters Alicia, Rebecca, Andrea, Mariah, Emily, Amy, Sarah, Elizabeth, Anne, Mary, Valerie and Lindsay.  Grandsons Michael, John, William, Ryan and Cody. Great Granddaughters Madison, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Evelyn, Bee, Lucia, Fiona, Kobe and Great Grandson Liam.

After raising his seven children he retired in the early 90's from National Vendors and went to work being the greatest grandfather anyone could ever have. He was an avid pilot and he loved to take his grandchildren flying at Northwest Regional in his Cessna high wing. When they weren't flying they were all playing in his pool in Double Oak. He loved golf and kept himself busy constantly repairing his grandchildren's original Nintendo along with any other household appliance that was making a funny noise. He was a wizard with a soldering iron. When something broke he grinned from ear to ear. Another excuse to tear it apart and figure out how it works. He and his courageous wife took on remodeling projects, traveled, and lived life to the fullest. We are eternally grateful for all the wonderful gifts our beloved Bob and Mary leave behind.
