Obituary

Loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Robert (Bob) James Leenhouts (70) went home to his Savior and Lord on Friday, September 15, 2017 in Denton, Texas. Born July 4, 1947 in Rochester, NY, Bob shared 48 years of laughter and love with his wife and best friend Bette Jo (Jo) Leenhouts. Bob is survived by his two sons, Scott Leenhouts and Bryan Leenhouts (Melody), and his five grandchildren, Ashlyn, Callye, Hayeden, Jacob, and Caroline. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Ontiveros and her son, Kevin Freel.
Bob dedicated his life to serving God, loving his family, working as an Executive General Manager of private golf clubs, and sharing his humor and kindness with everyone. While Bob struggled in recent months with Pulmonary Fibrosis, Bob was active his entire life, skiing, biking, hiking, and traveling. His longtime love of fishing and golf were enhanced exponentially in the company of his sons and grandchildren.
Bob served in the United States Army as an MP from 1968–1974, leaving as a Sergeant E5. Bob graduated from Northern Virginia College and has worked in prestigious golf clubs from Virginia to Hawaii, leaving a legacy of dedication and servant leadership wherever he went.
