Robert Edward Layne, 43, of Denton, died Tuesday September 6, 2011 at The Atrium Medical Center in Corinth.
Mr. Layne was born on March 9, 1968 in Tachikawa Air Base in Japan to Franklin and Geri (Cronin) Layne. He served in the United States Army in the Gulf War and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Parishioner at Saint Mark Catholic Church. He worked as a truck driver for several years and served as a volunteer Fire Fighter in California,
and Virginia.
A visitation will be held from 7:00 until 8:30 PM on Friday, September 9 at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Saint Mark Catholic Church, 2800 Pennsylvania Dr., Denton, TX. Father George will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Layne is survived by his mother, Geri Layne of Denton; sister, Peggy Toth of Dumfrees, VA; brothers, Ted Layne of Denton, Tony Layne of Denton.
