Robert (Rob) Alan Hudnall, 63, of Corinth, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Wednesday, January 18, 2023, after battling cancer for several months. He was surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Midland TX but soon moved to Pottsboro where he grew up and graduated from Sherman High School in 1977. Later he graduated from North Texas State University in Denton, TX. His excellent work ethic speaks for itself as he went to work for Peterbilt in Denton in 1981 and retired from the same company 40 years later. He then split his time between his home in Corinth and the Island of Saint John.
His survivors include his wife, Kelly Hudnall of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands; two sons Brad Hudnall of Dallas, TX and Dane Hudnall of San Antonio, TX; one daughter Traci Anderson of San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico; his daughter-in-law Sarah Hudnall and his grandson Quinten Hudnall and granddaughter Margot Hudnall.
Rob was preceded in death by his father Deb Hudnall Sr., his mother Ann Abbot and his brother Deb Hudnall. His Celebration of Life service will be held January 28, at Cross Timbers Church in Argyle, Texas at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Josiah officiating.
Rob never knew a stranger and never shied away from taking care of those around him. His warm nature and playful spirit drew people to him of all ages. To be in Rob's presence was to feel special because he was always fully present and "into" those around him, giving them his undivided attention. He connected with others because of his love of life and interest in a diversity of people. He was a Brickhouse veteran, a Cross-Timbers church-member, an island hopper, a UNT football fanatic, and a lover of good tunes. He could make any situation a little more fun, any person feel a little more included, and whenever he found something he liked (a cigar, restaurant, song, vacation destination, etc.), he shared it with enthusiasm. He was mentor to many of his children's friends—adopting them in turn as his own sons and daughters.
His financial resources were invested in his church, the UNT athletic department, other charitable organizations, and bringing relief to many of his friends/pupils who were going through tough times.
"MAN OF THE HOUR" fully describes Rob Hudnall by all who knew him—always concerned about the welfare of others, always positive, and always faithful, even to the end of his journey! He never lost his sense of God's love and concern for him! Therefore he left a loving legacy for his family to live by and pass down to future generations. How proud they are of this remarkable man! He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, if anyone wants to contribute to Rob's honor, checks can be written to the "Rob Hudnall Scholarship Fund" and mailed to 1903 Bridgestone Dr. Corinth, Texas 76210.
