Obituary

Robert Arnold Gleaton, 79, of Denton, passed away Friday March 5, 2010. He was born in West Blocton, Alabama to parents, Fermer Edward and Dovie Gleaton. Robert served in the Korean War as an ambulance driver for a MASH unit. He came to Texas where he met and married his wife, Janette Sams, in 1953. He was retired from Ford Motor Company and the US Postal Service. Robert and Janette have been residents of Denton for 31 years and are members of Denton Bible Church.
Robert is survived by his wife, Janette; one daughter, Lynda McBurnett and her husband Sam of Krum; three sons, Robert E. and wife Susan of Gainesville, Dickey R. and wife Gloria of Southmayd, Terry W. and wife Lora of Pilot Point; two niece/daughters, Raymie Walls and husband Craig of Plano and Melissa Dempster and husband Bill of McKinney. Robert also leaves behind his eighteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of family and extended family, including Zana Kizzee of Virginia, as well as many friends.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday March 7, 2010 at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, TX. A service celebrating his life is scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday March 8, 2010 at the Denton Bible Church Chapel, 2300 E. University Dr., Denton, TX, with his nephew, Jeff Rogers and Al Camp officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
