Obituary

Robert Henderson Caldwell, Jr., 90, of Denton, died December 1, 2011 at Denton Good Samaritan Village.
Mr. Caldwell was born on October 6, 1921 in Denton, Texas to Robert Henderson and Bertha (Hill) Caldwell. He married Elinor Hedrick on May 29, 1948 in Midland, Texas. He graduated from Denton High School and received his LL.B from the University of Texas. He served in the United States Army during WWII in which he was wounded in the battle at Anzio, Italy in 1944. He was an attorney for the City of Denton and County and District Attorney for Denton County. He later on operated his own law firm. He served on the board of directors at North Texas Savings and Loan and at Denton County Bank and was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 3, 2011 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 300 W. Oak St., Denton, TX. Rev. Steve Plunkett will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Members of the Denton County Bar Association will be honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Caldwell is survived by his wife, Elinor Caldwell of Denton; daughters, Ellen Elizabeth Caldwell of Dallas, Laura Caldwell Tucker and her husband Jonathan of Austin; sons, Robert H. Caldwell, III of Austin, James H. Caldwell of Denton; one grandson Augustine "Gus" Caldwell Tucker of Austin.
