Robert A. (Bob) Finney, age 74, of Denton passed away Thursday, November 15, 2007 at The Vintage in Denton, Texas.

He was born September 22, 1933 in Sterling City, Texas to Edgar Porter Finney and Lonie Iown Cloud Finney. Bob served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Mary Lou Hutchisson, June 22, 1957 in Downey, California. He was awarded the General Telephone Company Lacroix Award for saving the life of a fellow employee in 1957. He was top salesman with National Life Insurance for six years and received several awards for outstanding service and sales. He also was area representative for American Broadcasting Co. (ABC) covering Washington, Idaho, Montana and Oregon. He also was former director of Big Brothers Donation Center in Houston. He was a member of Eagle's Lodge, DAV and the Moose Lodge.

Bob was a member of Lake Shore Baptist Church in Lake Dallas and a former member of Pines Baptist Church in Spokane, Washington where he was very active.

Robert is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; daughters, Margaret Ann Finney Smith of Lewisville, Texas, Susan Kay Finney Chamberlin of Teague, Texas, and Carol Lynn Finney Watkins of Spokane, Washington; son, Robert Alvin Finney, Jr. of Arlington, Texas; brothers, Larry Martin Finney of Idaho, Ned Albert Finney of El Paso, Texas; his sister, Inell of Washington and 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Eugene Finney.

Funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2007, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home Chapel in Lewisville. Interment with military honors will follow at

Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville is in charge of arrangements.
