Robert "RW" Willis Beene, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, at the age of 96. RW was born December 17, 1927, in Rule, Texas, and married Carol Danner on September 10, 1955.
RW enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as an audio and video salesman. He, Carol, and their young family moved frequently as he climbed the ranks. They finally settled in Denton, where RW supported Carol as she established her own successful career, breeding and raising championship Great Danes.
RW also was an enthusiastic supporter of his three children's motorcross racing endeavors. He was a big fan of the Dallas Mavericks since their inception and served as the team's game film professional. He was also a lifelong fan of auto racing, especially NASCAR.
As an active-duty member of the U.S. Army Air Corps, RW served his country with pride.
RW will be missed by his family and friends who deeply loved him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Puckett, his father Newton Beene, his brother Tom Puckett, his daughter Kimberley Beene Allen, and grandson Cullen Allen.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carol, of Denton; brother Bruce and his wife Trina of Huntsville, Texas; daughter Jennifer Weber of Farmers Branch, Texas; son Craig Beene and daughter-in-law, Debbie, of Hazelwood, Missouri; five grandchildren and one great grandson.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 1, 2024 at Roselawn Memorial Park, 3801 Roselawn Dr., Denton, TX.
