Robert (Bob) A. Garrison passed away at his home in Corinth, TX on October 2, 2104, after a long battle with cancer. Bob was born on July 17, 1959 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Garrison, mother Lois Garrison, and brother Gary Garrison. Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years and loving caregiver Jackie Venturi Garrison. He is also survived by his son Bobby, daughter-in-law Morgan, Murrieta, CA, son Michael, daughter-in-law, Sara, Quantico, VA; daughter Kelly Riney, son-in-law Steve, Frisco, TX , sister Carol Sanford (Bob), Tampa, FL ,brother Alan, Mansfield, PA and six grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Bob was a loving husband, father, Papa and friend to all. He spent 22 years in the United States Army and volunteered for the USO for the past eight years. He was incredibly patriotic- even raising two United States Marines. After retiring from the Army, Bob worked for Alturdyne Power Systems until 2012 when he became ill. He loved NASCAR and was fortunate enough to drive a racecar on the Texas Motor Speedway track last year. Bob loved animals, enjoyed watching the birds from his patio, helping others, visiting with friends, traveling and playing with his grandkids.
A memorial service will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church of Denton, TX on Friday, October 10, 2014 services beginning at 10:30. Interment to follow at 1:30 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX. Funeral arrangements by Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, Denton, TX.
