Richard "Dickie" Henry Taliaferro, Jr. 77, of Denton, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
Mr. Taliaferro was born on November 21, 1938 in Denton to Richard H. Taliaferro, Sr. and Norma "Sunshine" E. (Berry) Taliaferro. He followed in the steps of his father and grandfather and operated Taliaferro's Radio and Sewing Shop in Denton for many years. He was a lifelong advocate for seniors and the disabled. Many strays, both animal and human, found a loving home with Dickie.
He is survived by his two sons, Bart Taliaferro of Cross Roads and Jay Taliaferro of Snoqualmie, WA; sister, Ann Pomykal Seymour of Corinth; grandchildren, Julia Taliaferro, Benjamin Taliaferro, Georgia Taliaferro; nephews, Parker Pomykal and Preston Pomykal and their families.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 4, 2016 in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Denton.
