Richard Eugene Smith, age 77, of Lewisville, Texas and former resident of Spokane, Washington passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007, in Lewisville.

He was born February 11, 1929 in Saint Cloud, Minnesota to Albert and Josephine Kampa Smith. He married Charlene Sullivan on July 10, 1954 in Spokane. Dick retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 20+ years of active duty including the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, the Eagles, the Inland Empire Car Club and the Corvair Club all in Spokane. Following his retirement from the Air Force Dick worked and retired from the Spokane Transit Authority.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene of Lewisville; son, Brian K. Smith and his wife, Margie of Lewisville; grandchildren, Steven Smith of Los Angeles, California and Sonya Smith of Lewisville and sister, Donna Cant of Tampa, Florida.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. A graveside service with full military honors will follow at

Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Union Gospel Mission Ministries, 1224 E. Trent Ave.,
