Richard Lee Blandy, 84, passed peacefully at home in Denton, Texas on February 16, 2021 with his wife by his side. He was born on his family's farm in Yates Center, Kansas to Ben and Lula Blandy. He graduated from high school in Yates Center and attended Jr. College in Ark. City, Kansas where he met and married the love of his life Martha Pond. He proudly served in the Army Reserves for 8 years. Richard and Martha had 60 wonderful years together, which included successfully owning and managing their own business, Bannon Tractor Parts. He was known for his love of people and sense of humor and will be missed by many family members and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his four sisters, Eleanor Ellinger, Millie Kaths, Velma Sparks and Vern Day. Mother and Father-in-law Frank and Bess Pond. Also brothers-in-law, David Pond and Lloyd Pond. He is survived by his wife Martha Blandy, daughters Shari Blandy and Tammy and Keith Wells, grandchildren Diane Wells and James Wells, in-laws Steve & Susan Abrams, Kenny and Linda Mayberry, and cousin Wanda Shaw, along with many nieces & nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to First Baptist Church, Denton, Texas where he was an active member. A graveside service will be held in Oklahoma at a later date.
