IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Brock
Abbott
October 2, 2000 – January 9, 2024
Richard Brock Abbott, of Denton, Texas, was born on October 2, 2000, in Plano, Texas to parents Jon and Amy Abbott. Brock passed away from this life unexpectedly on January 9, 2024. He was 23 years old.
After graduating from high school, Brock worked for Chick-fil-A and Walmart before joining North Rock Construction, where he enjoyed the company's camaraderie, their culture, the physical exertion of the job, and the thrill of learning new skills.
Brock's true passions, though, were his love for Christ and his desire to help others. He loved being a brother to his older sister, Bailey. Brock wanted to brighten people's day and often did with his toothy smile and a snarky, but light-hearted one-liner. He couldn't imagine not being surrounded by his family and friends, in this life or the next. Brock would talk at length to others about the Bible, answering their questions as best he could in a kind and compassionate way. His faith wasn't always the first thing he talked about, but it was on continuous display. Many have described Brock as an old soul in a young body.
Brock's hobbies included watching movies, creating stories, and playing board games. He was an avid Lego collector and had enjoyed superhero comics and movies since he was a child.
Brock is survived by his father, Jonathan David Abbott, his mother, Amy Lewis Abbott, and his sister, Bailey Madison Abbott Dunn and her husband, Andrew Stephen Dunn.
