Obituary

Reuben Cowan, 98, went to be with our Lord July, 4, 2017. He was born September 24, 1918 in San Marcos, Texas to Earnest Cowan and Mittie Donnell Cowan.

He served in the U.S. Navy.  He was in Civil Services at Kelly Field for 35 years.  He served His LORD for over 60 years as deacon, Sunday school teacher, Youth Leader and mentor in San Antonio and Denton.

Reuben is survived by three sons- Gordon of Ponder, Texas, Wayne of St. Charles, MO and Larry of Sherman, Texas and two daughters- Mittie Wally of Davidson, NC and Margie Jo Butler of New River, AZ.  Also, 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and 3 brothers.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday July 10, 2017 at Gateway United Baptist Church Denton, TX at 2:00 p.m. with Rev Buddy Owens officiating.  Where he was a faithful member and will be greatly missed. There will be a private family interment at Belew Cemetery in Aubrey, Texas.

Memorials may be made to Gateway United Baptist Church for the North Campus fund.
