Obituary

Renee Terry Sanders Reeves was born April 7, 1949 in Atlanta, Georgia to Bill and Louise Strawn Terry.  Having put her trust in Jesus Christ as her Savior during her childhood, Renee committed her life to the Lordship of Christ and became His disciple through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ at Georgia Southern University. There she met and married her first husband, Wayne Sanders, with whom she shared their three children, Jason, Joshua, and Jessica.  They also shared a season of ministry through CRU, Dallas Theological Seminary, a Georgia pastorate, and the Christian Medical and Dental Society.  Years after Wayne's unexpected death, Renee reconnected with a dear friend at his wife's funeral.  That man, Eddie Reeves, would soon become her second husband.  Wayne had led Eddie to Christ as fraternity brothers and Eddie's wife, Fran, had been one of Renee's lifelong kindred spirit friends.  Eddie and Renee enjoyed living in Dahlonega, Georgia for first years of marriage before moving to Texas in 2010.  While living in Denton, they had the opportunity to be near Jessica and Renee's brother, Tim Terry, who became a Christ-follower after Renee and Wayne led him to the Lord in his college years. Renee treasured the Word of God, salvation in Christ alone, and eagerly anticipated an eternity with those she loves.  She enjoyed serving on CRU staff with her husband Wayne along with her brothers, Tim and Mark Terry.  Because ministry and discipleship were woven into the fiber of who she was, she took every opportunity to teach her grandchildren about her greatest treasure, Jesus Christ.

Renee is survived by her husband, Eddie Reeves, sons Jason Sanders and Joshua Sanders, daughter Jessica Sanders, grandchildren Elisha, Phoenix, and Hudson Sanders, brothers Tim (Debbie) and Mark (Pat), nieces and nephews, Ben Terry (Laura, Ethan, Elaina), Juliana Sletten (Kyel, Brooks, Faith), Elizabeth Hasty (Stewart, Ellie Grace, Gunner), Hannah Terry, Anne Marie Terry (Alayna), and Michelle Terry, step-sons Ryan Reeves (Kelli, Grace, Sarah Jane), David Reeves (Jenny, Addison, Kate), Seth Reeves, and a myriad of beloved sisters and brothers in Christ scattered around the world. Her loved ones grieve her temporary separation, miss her beautiful countenance, celebrate her well-lived life, and eagerly await our forever family reunion.

"Because there is much to celebrate about her life, we will have a memorial service in both Texas and Georgia. The first service will be Thursday, February 28th at the Denton Bible Church chapel in Denton, TX at 1:30 pm. Family will receive guests at the MAC Building (2800 Shoreline Drive, Denton) from 3 pm to 5 pm and light refreshments will be provided.

The second service will be Saturday, March 2nd at the Memorial Park Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, Georgia at 2 pm. Family will receive guests directly after the service.  Light refreshments will be provided. If you anticipate joining us in GA, please email  reneesandersreeves@gmail.com  . There will be a time of sharing during this service for anyone who would like to participate."
