Rebecca Tyler Lockhart, 87, of Denton, died Sunday, May 31, 2015 in Denton. She was born on October 15, 1927 in Ryan, OK to M.H. Barrett II and Oolucha Faulkner Barrett. She attended Oklahoma A&M (now OSU) and the University of Oklahoma. She was a true horsewoman and member of The National Cowgirl Hall of Fame, the AQHA, and founder of the APHA.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Walker, of Gainesville. She is survived by her brother, M.H. Barrett III, her daughter, Robin Tyler, of Aubrey; two grandsons, Brian Partain of Gainesville and Steven Walker of Corinth, and a granddaughter, Jessica Walker of Lubbock.
