Raymond Leon Fenley, passed away on January 5, 2026 at the age of 88.

Born on February 1, 1937, outside of Sunset, Texas, he was the seventh son and tenth child of Bert and Bertie Fenley. Raised during the hard years of sharecropping, he learned early the values of hard work, family, and perseverance-values that shaped the rest of his life.

His childhood was spent moving across North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Working farms in places like Park Springs, Ringgold, Terrell and finally Tioga. From teams of horses to John Deere tractors, cotton fields to sorghum mills, his memories reflected a way of life built on grit, cooperation, and making do with what you had.

He attended school in Sanger and Tioga, ultimately graduating from Tioga High school in 1956.

After high school, he built a long and respected career as a machinist. Beginning at Chance Vought and later working at Drilling and Service and Royal Tool where he eventually became foreman. In 1979, he made the decision to leave Royal Tool to run his own business from home.

He married Mary Lee Beaty on April 22, 1960. Together they had 2 children, Brad and Cathy Fenley. Brad Fenley and his wife Maybeth Nunn. Brad has 2 children, Elizabeth Rogers and her husband Eric Rogers and their son Miles Rogers, they live in Washington DC. Kevin Fenley lives in Copper Canyon TX. Cathy Fenley is married to Michael Becker. Cathy has 1 son, Brian Schnaithman. Michael Becker has 2 children, Alex Becker and Stephanie Becker.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Bertie Fenley and siblings, including. JW Fenley, Harold Fenley, George Fenley, Charles Fenley, Walter Fenley, Hubert Fenley, Josephine Fenley, Una Mae Fenley. And is survived by one sister, Juanita Fenley.
