Ray Eugene Price "Gene" of Denton, TX passed away at home on April 21, 2022. Over the past few years he has faced many health challenges. He was born to William Pitts Price & Mary Eveylen Price who adopted him at birth. He was raised in Garland, TX as an only child.

He married Pamela Janette Price on May 12, 1984 in Garland, TX. They relocated to Denton, TX for Gene to attend University of North Texas. The majority of his work life was spent in dispatch at CoServe Electric. In his younger years he enjoyed running and later enjoyed his kids running and coaching his son's baseball team. He was heavily involved in Royal Ambassadors and helped with organizing the 'RA' camp at Camp Copass in Denton, TX. RA's was a vessel for him to share his faith and lead others to having a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. His biggest joys included camping with his family at all the Texas State Parks, archery & gun safety, campfire cooking his specialty being 'peach cobbler', and he loved to talk sports and politics.

He is preceded in Death by his grandparents Johnnie Ray McCallum & Pearl McCallum, His mother Mary Evelyn McCallum Price, best friend Johnny Howard, sister in-law Melisa Dee Jordan.

He is survived by wife Pamela 'Janette' Price, Daughter Lynsey Tate & husband Brant Tate of Tolar, TX, son Warren Price & wife Mindy Price of Waco, TX, son Johnnie Taylor Price & wife Savannah Price of Mineral Wells, TX, Grandchildren Bree Price, Bo Price, and Amelia Tate. He is also survived by his faithful companion 'Happy'.

Visitation is Monday April 25, 2022, 6-8pm at Mulkey-Bowles Montgomery Funeral home in Denton, TX.

Funeral service April 26, 2022, 10am at Mulkey-Bowles Montgomery Funeral home in Denton, TX.  Interment at Sachse Cemetery; 2pm in Sachse, TX
