Ramona Barrera Gomez, age 82, of Lewisville, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2008, in Flower Mound.

She was born August 31, 1925 in Zaragoza, Mexico to Daniel and Felipa Lira Barrera. She married Maximo Gomez who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughters, Josefina G. Godinez and husband, Arthur and Rebecca Garcia both of Lewisville; son, Joe Gomez and wife, Martha of Mesquite; eleven grandchildren; Arthur Godinez, Jr., Darrell and Angie Morgan, Leo and Adriana Sanchez, Jacqueline Moreno, Jessica Rangel, Sarah Ann Moreno, Melissa Cordova, Mathew Torrez, Marisha Gomez, Maranda Gomez and Madilyn Gomez; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Cande Soria of Mexico and Socorro Garcia of San Antonio ; and brothers, Nato Barrera of Chicago, Illinois, and Gregorio Barrera and Jose Barrera both of San Antonio.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Interment will follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville. The Reverend Edmundo Paderes will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
