Wayne "Possum" Moncrief passed away on Saturday January 26th, at the Longmeadow Health Care Center in Justin, where he was rehabilitating after a motor vehicle accident on January 2nd, 2019.
Wayne was born an only-child in Collinsville on November 15th, 1938 to the late Ralph Clark Moncrief and Lillie Mae Walker Moncrief. He was preceded in death in 2002, by his wife of 26 years, Dorothy Louise Wooley Moncrief. He is survived by his children Steven Moncrief of Collinsville; Keith Moncrief and wife, Ilene, of Gordonville; Kevin Paynter and wife, Nancy, of Callisburg; Karen Paynter Smith and husband, Robert, of Garland; Clifford Allen and wife, Carol, of Collinsville; Brian Moncrief and wife, Amy, of Frisco; 15 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and friend & companion, Wanda Davidson of Denton.
Wayne retired from Weber Aircraft Inc. in 2005, he worked for Weber for 26 years. Wayne asked that the family not spend a lot of money and make a big to-do about his death. In honoring his wishes, the family will hold a small graveside service on Saturday Feb. 9th at 10:00 at the Collinsville Cemetery, Ricky Patterson officiating.
