Ralph Tilden Bullard

January 9, 1936 – November 26, 2021

Ralph T. Bullard, 85, passed away the day after Thanksgiving, November 26, 2021, following a 5-month struggle with bone cancer.

Ralph was born in Dallas, TX.  At age 6 his parents, D.C. Ralph Bullard and Edith Inez Maples Bullard, moved from Oak Cliff to the Bullard family farm east of Denton, TX, to run the family dairy.  Ralph grew up shooting meat for the table and riding horses. He graduated from Denton High School in 1955. He and two of his buddies had a country/western radio show on station KDNT, Denton. He rodeoed in the area and studied [partied] for a year at North Texas State before realizing that riding bucking broncos and going to college were not for him.

He worked in Dallas several years in the electronics field before shifting into commercial construction. He worked for several construction companies involved in the development of Addison, TX. In 1978 he decided to become his own boss and established Bullard Construction, Inc, based in Addison. He built the company on tradition of quality and repeat service to his clients. Bullard Construction opened a second office in McAllen, TX, in 1999.

In recognition of his contribution to the industry, Ralph was honored by the North Texas Chapter of the CCIM [Certified Commercial Investment Members] when a life-time Endowed Scholarship for upcoming relators / investors was established in his name. For 20+ years Bullard Construction has been a sponsor and team participant in the annual clay shoot, a fundraiser for CCIM.

Ralph is known for his generosity. He encouraged and helped many others establish their own businesses just as he did 43 years ago.

When not working, Ralph enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He taught many how to shoot a gun and cast a rod.

"Just calling to check on your well-being" was his typical phone call greeting and he ended with "I'm here if you need me."

He will be missed by his family and many, many friends.
