Racy Bascom Stimpson Jr.
"R B" Stimpson, 88, of Haughton, LA, passed away on Sunday December 9, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Shreveport, LA after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 14, 1924 in Bonham, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Racy Stimpson Sr.; mother, Annie Jones Stimpson; stepmother, Louise Jones Stimpson; brother, Guy Stimpson and sisters, Anita Atkins and Doris Dodson. He is survived by his son, Michael Stimpson and wife Pam of Houston, TX; daughters, Elizabeth Walker and husband Virgil of Haughton, LA, Sherrie Taylor and husband Steve of North Richland Hills, TX, Kathleen Work and husband Wayne of Denton, TX; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. R B served during WWII and received an honorable discharge from the Coast Guard Fire Control 3rd Class on the USS Charlotte, and was discharged in 1945. Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 from 12 noon to 1:30 pm at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Denton, TX followed by a 2:00 pm graveside service at the Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, TX with Rev. Danny Dodson, officiating.
Pallbearers will be Steve Taylor, Wayne Work, Stephen Taylor, Scotty Spain, Taylor Lynch, Taylor Simpson, and Brandon Simpson.
