Rachel B. Calvert 75, of Denton, passed away on December 23, 2008 at the Senior Care Center.  She was born October 18, 1933 in Denton to Noah R. and Vera Aileen (Tubbs) Wiggs.  She attended Denton High School.  She was married to Wm. Thomas Calvert on October 29, 1949 in Marietta, Oklahoma, he died in 1992.  She was retired from Moore Business Forms, after 32 years and operated the Hickory Creek Hair Service.  She is a member of the Gateway United Baptist Church, and the Denton Rebecca Lodge.

A funeral service  will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, December 29, 2008 in theGateway United Baptist Church, 2501 N. Bell Ave. Denton, with Rev. Buddy Owens, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Old Alton Cemetery.  The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, on Sunday, December 28, 2008 for visitation from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M.

Mrs. Calvert is survived by a daughter and son in law, Connie and Jerry Cardwell,  son and daughter in law  Tommy Dale and Brenda Calvert,  a sister and brother in law,  Patsy and Curtis Page, and a brother Billy Jack Wiggs,  five Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren, all of Denton.
