Polly Cavender Sherling, 83, of Denton, died Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the Vintage.  She was born April 2, 1925 in Paris, Texas to Frank and Melissa (Lyle) Cavender.  She was married to Raymond C. Sherling, Sr. on July 12, 1947 in Denton.  She attended public Schools and is a member of the Unity Church of New Hope. She was a homemaker.

The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday August 10, 2008. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday August 11, at Roselawn Memorial Park, 3801 Roselawn Dr., Denton. A memorial service will be later that day at 1:00 PM at the Unity Church of New Hope, 6071 New Hope Rd., Krugerville. The church website is www.unityofnewhope.org for directions.

Mrs. Sherling is survived by her son, Raymond Sherling, Jr. (Randy) and his wife, Teresa of Denton, and a daughter-in-law, Verna Sherling of  Phoenix, AZ; brother, John Garner of Denton; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
