Graduated to Heaven…
Our Beloved "Lolly"

On March 17, 2007, Peggy Jo Maroney Beck lost her brave battle against melanoma, a cancer that may have taken her body, but never touched her spirit.
Peggy was a devoted wife, an amazing mother, a loving sister, supportive aunt and a compassionate friend. However, her most treasured mission of all was that of grandmother.

Peggy was born October 5, 1941 to Claude Eugene Maroney and Biddie Irene Winder in Nacogdoches, Texas. On March 30, 1963, she married John Franklin Beck who was her husband and soul mate for almost 46 years. Together they welcomed Jennifer Cristen into their lives in 1969. From that moment on there was a mother/ daughter bond like no other.

As a sister, Peggy both found and gave comfort, friendship and unconditional love from Elizabeth, Martha, and Patsy. She not only had them as sisters, but also chose them as best friends.

As a friend, Peggy's caring demeanor was omnipresent. She would lend an ear, her guidance and time without hesitation. Her passion to share God's message overcame her somewhat reserved personality.

Peggy began her professional career in banking in Baytown, Texas rising to the capacity of Assistant Vice-President of the Baytown State Bank. When she moved to Denton, Peggy continued her career at the University of North Texas Student Health and Wellness Center for 19 years. She was an Accounting/Audit Specialist. During those years, she developed many long and lasting friendships. She retired in December, 2004 due to an increase in the number of grandchildren multiplied by three!

Surviving are her husband, John; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Billy Koberick; four grandchildren, Will, Annsleigh, Landry and Ella Koberick; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Jesse Bishop; brother-in-law, Douglas Fuqua; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maxine and Guinn Baker; 10 nieces and nephews; 6 great-nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father and mother, Claude Eugene and Biddie Maroney; father-in-law and mother-in-law, W.C. and Ella Mae Beck; daughter, Nanci Ann Beck; sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and W.L. Gillespie; sister, Patsy Fuqua; nephew, Ray Baker.

Please join us in celebrating Peggy's life on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at The First Baptist Church of Denton, Texas.
