Pauline Patrick Tipps passed into her eternal reward on November 2, 2015. She was born in Wilson, Oklahoma on February 18, 1930 to Everett and Alice Patrick. She was one of six children. Her fondest childhood memories were of life on "the farm". She moved to Denton with her brother R.C. Patrick in 1948. She was married to James Weldon Tipps on December 18, 1949. She was a mother and homemaker most of her life and a devout follower of Christ.
Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends knew her as a faithful, patient, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She always sought the best in people and she possessed an incredibly gentle spirit. She lived her faith as she taught Sunday School to multiple generations of children at the First Church of the Nazarene in Denton. The fruits of her service are evident in the many lives that she influenced.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Stone and her husband Stephen of Denton; her sister Gayle Broughton of Denison, Texas; six grandchildren, Zach Tipps, and wife Amanda of Dallas, Texas, Andrew Tipps of Shady Shores, Texas, Hilary Tipps Obermiller and husband, Steve of Fort Worth, Texas; Seth Stone and wife Tamara, of Flint, Texas, Matthew Havenhill of Denton; and Caleb Havenhill of Denton, and; two great-grandchildren, Allie Tipps of Shady Shores and Donovan David Tipps of Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband James Weldon Tipps; her son, David Tipps; her brothers Alton Patrick, R. C. Patrick, and Buck Patrick; and her sister Doris Wilshire.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Denton Funeral Home, 120 S. Carroll Blvd, in Denton. For those unable to attend the visitation, a viewing will be held beginning at 10:30 on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at the Highland Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Baptist Church, 600 Thomas St., in Denton with Pastor Brandon McCarroll officiating. Graveside service to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
